Djamel Haimoudi honoured as Africa's best referee in 2012

Following an official announcement heralded by Africa's football governing body CAF, Algerian official Djamel Haimoudi has been invested with their "Referee of the Year" award winning out over Senegal's Badara Diatta and Slim Jedidi of Tunisia, who had also been in the run.

Haimoudi was honoured in Accra, Ghana, following in the footsteps of Noumandiez Doué of Côte d'Ivoire, to whom the reward had been awarded in 2011.
Having been given the FIFA badge in 2004, Haimoudi already attended a couple of meaningful competitions including 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia, 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon/Equatorial Guinea and 2012 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan this month.
As a consequence, the Oran-based official is furthermore one of 52 referees being on the prospective list for 2014 FIFA World Cup that will be held in Brazil. In addition, he will very probably join next January's Africa Cup of Nations to be played in five of South Africa's 2010 deployed World Cup stadiums.

  2. So far confirmed AFCON 2013 referees, source is Mohammed A. Fattah!

Khalid Abdel Rahman (SUD), Néant Alioum (CMR), Daniel Bennett (RSA), Koman Coulibaly (MLI), Badara Diatta (SEN), Noumandiez Doue (CIV), Bouchaib El Ahrach (MAR), Bakary Gassama (GAM), Ghead Grisha (EGY), Djamel Haimoudi (ALG), Nampiandraza Hamada (MAD), Slim Jedidi (TUN)

Could be that there are also other officials, but these ones are confirmed for sure.

haimoudi cannot officiate at the world cup. he blows for almost every contact between players. european players are clever they will have a field day with him. his foul detection is poor

  5. I like Djamel Haimoudi. He is a very straight forward referee and I liked the style of his refereeing. He really deserves this Referee of the year award.
